Suggestions for Using this Booklet
For this meeting you will need to choose a book to read to the troop. You can also play a readaloud video from Youtube.

Read a book to your troop that covers the topic of being a good friend to everyone, even if they are a little different. Here are a few of our favorites for this topic. After the story you can talk about the book and then have the girls draw a picture of how the characters in the book were friends even through their differences, or how they can be a good friend to everyone.

Next have the girls sit in pairs. This exercise can show that we can be friends with people, even if we aren't all the same. It will teach them to look at how we are similar and appreciate how we are different.
Have each pair of girls write or draw one thing about them that is the same. Then write or draw something that they don't have in common. Some examples are:

Talk about the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). This page has three common symbols found in most of the Girl Scout and Girl Guide logos.
